JR XG8 DMSS 2.4Ghz 8ch Telemetry Radio, Tx/Rx Mode 2 Black Ed.
JR XG8 DMSS 2.4Ghz 8ch Telemetry Radio, Tx/Rx Mode 2 Black Ed.
Overview

The XG8 DMSS Telemetry Radio System (Black Edition) from JR is an outstanding addition to the market and JR's line of superb-quality radios. The first Radio to incorporate JR's own DMSS Technology - Dual Modulation Spectrum System - 100% JR, it leads the way for a new era in Radios.

The XG8 is the first JR transmitter to come with a 2S Li-Fe battery, being fitted with a 1400 mAh pack. This has greatly reduced the weight of the transmitter, which weighs in at only 770 grams. It also ensures perfect balance. The transmitter has an integrated charging circuit so just plug in the AC adapter supplied and the charging unit will shut down automatically once it detects that the battery is fully charged. No more worries overcharging! The XG8 offers Aeroplane, Helicopter and Glider modes, a 30 model internal memory, stick modes 1 to 4 and an SD card slot for model data sharing, expanded storage and software updates (SD card not supplied).

Programming is easy thanks to JR's well-proven, intuitive user interface with data entered using the familiar scroll bar and four push-button entry keys. The programming information is clearly displayed on the large, graphical back lit screen. XG8 uses the new JR DMSS 2.4 technology which, besides offering a secure, robust radio link to control your models, also offers advanced telemetry functions and JR's new Intelligent Output System. Receiver voltage telemetry is built in as standard and other forthcoming add-on sensors will give you real time feedback of information from your model such as the RPM of an aircraft propeller or helicopter rotor blades, temperature and variometer/altimeter readings.

JR's Intelligent Output System automatically selects control signals that need to be transmitted at exactly the same time and transmits the data for these channels as one complete signal frame. This ensures that there is no time delay when commanding servos used for critical functions such as a CCPM swash plate on a helicopter or when operating a four servo aileron wing. Other features include side-lever controls on either side of the transmitter, a Touch Select System for switch selection, dual trim options, a user selected menu for frequently used functions, failsafe on all eight channels, user assigned switch function, programmable throttle cut and two independent programmable timers.

What is JR DMSS?

Dual Modulation Spectrum System is JR's own 2.4GHz protocol. Although a late entry to the 2.4GHz market, DMSS can be considered as the truly 'state of the art' method of providing radio control for model use. And since JR have not rushed their own 2.4 protocol into production, they have been able to incorporate the very latest techniques for 'Wideband Data Transmission' into the next generation of JR radio control sets.

DMSS combines the best features of Frequency Hopping Spread Spectrum (FHSS) and Direct Sequence Spread Spectrum (DSSS) protocols. FHSS is great for avoiding interference and DSSS offers high response. JR DMSS combines both these attributes, having both frequency hopping and high response.

The JR DMSS system uses a greater than 3Mhz wide signal as compared to the majority of others which utilise a much narrower [1Mhz or less] signal.

If we know anything about spread spectrum signals, the wider base signal [3Mhz Vs 1Mhz] allows for a huge increase in noise and interference immunity performance and at the same time allowing for much faster data bandwidth/throughput.

The fact that DMSS is actually using quite a wide bandwidth signal is a huge advantage in 2.4GHz performance and it will provide superior performance over any other current 2.4GHz system that is currently available.

DMSS also offers 'Two-Way Communication' (telemetry) with receiver voltage monitoring as standard. Other types of sensor are due soon, with Temperature and RPM sensors being the next types to become available from JR in late June.

However, probably the most important thing about JR DMSS is that it is 100% pure JR, with no involvement from any other outside company. This means that JR are back in full control of product development, so they can now concentrate on doing what they do best - making what are arguably the world's best quality radio control systems.

How can I get JR DMSS?

DMSS is being built into the next generation of JR radio control sets. DMSS sets can be differentiated from earlier JR 2.4 sets by looking for the XG series nomenclature. The first XG series radio to Australia will be the XG8 eight-channel system, which is supplied with an RG831 receiver complete with an embedded Receiver Voltage sensor and the combined satellite receiver/telemetry module RA01T.

The XG8 has passed MAAA testing and is due for release in Australia on June 15th, 2011. Later in the year we expect the radio line-up to extend with a pleasing blend of conventional JR transmitter case design with modern design touches. When picked up and compared with current eight channel sets we think you really will 'feel the difference' !

If I already own a JR modular transmitter, can I update it to DMSS?

At the time of writing we are still waiting for JR's instructions on how to deal with requests for DMSS updates. We will post any new information on this topic in the Support pages of our website.

Will I be able to use DSM2 receivers with my JR DMSS transmitter?

No. JR DMSS is a completely new 2.4 protocol with the combined better features from FHSS and DSSS. DMSS transmitters will not work with earlier 2.4 receivers from either JR or other manufacturers.

MULTIPLEX 2.4 GHZ COCKPIT SX RADIO SET WITH M-LINK TELEMETRY CAPABILITY.
MULTIPLEX 2.4 GHZ COCKPIT SX RADIO SET WITH M-LINK TELEMETRY CAPABILITY.
Description:
M-LINK – MULTIPLEX 2.4 GHz FHSS System

Includes .

* COCKPIT SX TRANSMITTER
* 2x MULTIPLEX RX-7-DR LIGHT M-LINK 2.4GHZ RECEIVERS (stock#MPX55810)
* 1 MINI-HD SERVO (STOCK# MPX65123)

M-LINK is a new radio transmission system from MULTIPLEX. It operates on the 2.4 GHz ISM band, and is based on modern Frequency Hopping Spread Spectrum technology (FHSS).

FEATURES:

• Automatic RF channel management
The need for the user to change the RF channel (plug-in crystals, Synthesizer) manually is eliminated. 2.4 GHz Spread Spectrum systems divide up the frequency spectrum automatically, and for this reason conventional frequency monitoring control is no longer needed. Interference due to “channel clashes” (as is possible on the 35, 40 … MHz bands) is virtually eliminated.
When the system is first used, all you have to do is “bind” the transmitter and receiver using a simple binding procedure. Once this is done, the receiver only recognises and processes the signals broadcast by its own transmitter.
• Fast, accurate transmission of up to sixteen servo channels
Depending on the transmitter in use, the new MULTIPLEX M-LINK standard transmits:
- twelve servo channels at 14 ms pulse rate
- sixteen servo channels at 21 ms pulse rate
at 12-bit resolution (3872 steps)
• Feedback capability / Telemetry
The 2.4 GHz ISM band provides the means of transmitting data from the model back to the transmitter. The receiver in an M-LINK system transmits the voltage of the receiver power supply to the transmitter in real time. If the voltage falls to a dangerous level, the transmitter generates a warning signal to alert the user. Additional external sensors (e.g. voltage, current, temperature) can also be connected to M-LINK receivers designed for this facility.
• Diversity and dual-receiver operation
MULTIPLEX M-LINK DR (Dual Receiver) receivers are of very sophisticated construction, and feature two complete receiving circuits in one case (receiver diversity). Both circuits receive constantly, and the circuit compares the signal quality; at any one time the better signal is selected for further processing, and is passed on to the servo outputs with zero delay. If reception conditions are critical, and / or the model is particularly valuable, two receivers can be coupled together in the model; this minimises signal reflections and polarisation effects which are typical of 2.4 GHz, and represents the highest possible level of security.
• Frequency Hopping Spread Spectrum technology (FHSS)
The transmitter and receiver jump (hop) from channel to channel at the same rhythm, at intervals of just a few milli-seconds. The control data is actually transmitted during a fraction of this time. It is this brief period of occupation of each channel which minimises signal conflicts and suppresses interference. Even if individual data packets are lost on individual channels, the constant high-speed process of hopping from channel to channel renders the interruption invisible to the pilot.
• Great range
The MULTIPLEX M-LINK system exploits the Frequency Hopping Spread Spectrum (FHSS) process. The radiated power approved for this system is 100mW EIRP, and in practice this results in radio range of more than 2000 m on the ground. In the air the effective range is even higher due to the more favourable propagation conditions. In simple terms this means an ample margin
of safety, even for large-scale models.
• High data transmission security
The enormous bandwidth available on 2.4 GHz makes it possible to transmit much greater quantities of data than is possible, for example, on the 35 MHz band (bandwidth 2.4 GHz = 83.5 MHz; 35 MHz = 1 MHz). Digital modulation in conjunction with sophisticated error-checking and correction in the receiver ensure excellent data quality.
• High resistance to interference
Typical interference sources in the model, such as electric motors, electronic devices such as speed controllers, ignition units for internal combustion engines etc., generate interference over a spectrum whose maximum frequency is far below the 2.4 GHz range. This simply means that 2.4 GHz systems are virtually immune to interference from these sources, and this results in a
further improvement in safety.
• HOLD / FAIL-SAFE function
If the receiver detects data which has suffered interference and is irreparable, it passes on the last valid data to the servos, thereby bridging the period of the signal loss (HOLD mode).
If interference continues beyond the (variable) HOLD period, FAIL-SAFE is activated, i.e. the receiver moves the servos to a programmable safety position (e.g. throttle off, control surfaces neutral). The FS positions are stored using a push-button at the receiver; some transmitters include a menu for this, enabling the Fail-Safe positions to be set “by radio”.

• Short transmitter / receiver aerials
The typically short 2.4 GHz transmitter aerials are more robust and easier to handle than conventional telescopic aerials, and they also do not interfere with the pilot’s field of view. Short receiver aerials are much easier to install in the model.
• High vibration resistance
Small, modern, highly integrated transceiver ICs replace ceramic components, coils and filters, all of which are susceptible to damage from vibration.
• Ready for LiPo
All MULTIPLEX M-LINK receivers feature a wide operating voltage range of 3.5 - 9.0 V, and are therefore largely immune to collapses in the power supply voltage. They are prepared for use with 2S LiXX batteries without voltage stabilisation to (typically) 6.0 V.
• World-wide approval
Apparatus operating on the 2.4 GHz band can be used world-wide. The components of the MULTIPLEX M-LINK system fulfil all current directives and statutory requirements.
• Update-capable
All transmitters and receivers are equipped with modern Flash memory micro-controller technology, and can therefore be updated at any time. This means that system components can be brought up to the latest state of software development when technical innovations are introduced in the future, or when changes are made to regulations

MULTIPLEX ROYAL PRO 7 VARIO SET W/2.4GHZ MODULE & 7CH DUAL RECEIVER

M-LINK – MULTIPLEX 2,4 GHz FHSS System

M-LINK is a new radio transmission system from MULTIPLEX. It operates on the 2.4 GHz ISM band, and is based on modern Frequency Hopping Spread Spectrum technology.
The features of M-LINK are as follows:
FOUR REASONS YOU NEED A DX8
Spektrum AirWareTM Software
Spektrum AirWare is software developed exclusively by Spektrum from the ground up. It has all the programming functions an expert airplane or heli pilot could want, but you don’t have to be an expert to use them.

Built-In Telemetry
The built-in telemetry feature on the DX8 gives you the ability to receive real-time information on things like your model’s battery voltage, signal quality, engine or motor temperature and more. And it will all appear right on the big, backlit DX8 display so you can see it at a glance.

Superior Ergonomics
The weight distribution and ergonomics of the DX8 provide a sense of balance and comfort that perfectly complements the speed and precision of its DSMX technology. You really do have to feel it to believe it. Some of the more impressive ergonomic features are those usually only available on much more expensive transmitters.

Spektrum Data Interface
With the Spektrum Data Interface you can use a standard SD* card to share model setups with other DX8 owners, store extra model memory and stay up to date with the latest software releases.

SPEKTRUM DX7 7CH AIRCRAFT RADIO TX/RX, MODE 2
Overview

With the DX7 you’ll be able to fly anything from micro electric helis, to big gas-powered IMAC planes without regard to frequencies and free from fear of interference. Calling this kind of thing “revolutionary” just doesn’t cut it. It is nothing less than a quantum leap in RC technology that will change how you fly forever. Never again will the availability of a frequency pin dictate when you can take off. Never again will you have to ask, “What channel are you on?” Never again will your flying experience be interrupted by model-generated RF noise, interference from commercial broadcast towers, or anyone on another RC system.
